2016 Racing Schedule
Published by
Well, it's already February and I've been working on some exciting developments this past month but also neglecting putting out my yearly race calendar so that my family knows where I'm off to this weekend. So here it is. The big races are on there, US Olympic Marathon Trials, Comrades, Leadville 100, and The TNF Endurance Challenge. The other races, and there will be some, are still a bit up in the air and will be decided on shorter timelines as they come up. It's going to be an exciting year. I've got some big news coming out in the next day or so. I'm attemping my second 100 miler as well as my second Comrades on a downhill year. The USATF XC Championships was this past weekend here in Bend so I had to jump in and it turns out that marathon training does a decent job getting you ready for XC but doesn't totally cut it. It was good enough to qualify me for the Pan Am games in Venezuela in a month so I'll be headed into Zika territory, slathering on Deet and trying to be in perpetual motion while I'm there. Relaxing on the beach is going to be a challenge if I have to keep moving. Leadville is going to be awesome. I'm excited for this one. We're doing a road trip out to CO and making some stops at a few running stores on the way out to promote Salomon Running TV Season 5, then spending 3 weeks at altidude playing in the mountains and prepping for the race.
Race Calendar as of today US Olympic Marathon Trials - Feb 13 Pan Am XC Champs - Mar 4 Advance Week (UK) - Apr 4-10 Comrades - May 30 Broken Arrow 50k - Jun 19 Steens Mountain Running Camp - Jul 17-30 Transrockies Run - Aug 9-11 Leadville 100 - Aug 20 The Rut 50k - Sept 4 (maybe?) Elk Kings Traverse - Oct 15 Le Templiers - Oct 22 Moab Trail Marathon - Nov 5 TNF Endurance Challenge - Dec 3
Whooo, that's a big schedule. Going to be a fun year. Lots of thanks to the continuing support from I couldn't do it without them and the support of my wife (who has not seen my race schedule yet, so I'll let you know how that goes).
